Maharashtra Govt Formation Live Updates: BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was on Thursday sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra in a grand ceremony at Azad Maidan in Mumbai in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath to Fadnavis.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.
This is for the third time that Fadnavis (54), an MLA from Nagpur, was sworn-in as the CM of Maharashtra. Whereas, Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy CM for the sixth time.
The ceremony was attended by Union ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh, chief ministers of NDA-ruled states and prominent personalities from industry and Bollywood.
Industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Kumarmangalam Birla and Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Sanjay Dutt and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar were also among the attendees.
Maharashtra election results
The BJP achieved remarkable success in the November 20 Maharashtra elections, securing 132 out of 288 seats, marking its best performance in the state so far. Together with its allies -- the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar's NCP, the Mahayuti coalition has a commanding majority of 230 seats.

Maharashtra CM LIVE: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut took a jibe at outgoing Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde after the Mahayuti alliance picked Devendra Fadnavis to be the next CM, saying that "Shinde era is over" and he will never be CM again.
Raut claimed that Shinde was 'used' by the BJP and now "has been tossed aside."
"Shinde era is over, it was just for two years. His usage is now over and he has been tossed aside. Shinde will never be the CM of this state again. They (BJP) can even break Shinde's party, this has always been BJP's line in politics. They break and finish the party of those who work with them," Raut said.
Raut further questioned the delay in revealing the CM of Maharashtra despite having a clear majority. He suggested something was wrong within the Mahayuti alliance.
